Before we visit.
Who owns and administers the system?
You do. HostAware performs the initial setup, documentation and handoff. Optional management support may be offered later, but ownership is not held hostage to a service agreement.
Do the systems require a HostAware subscription?
No. The core UniFi camera and network functions do not require a HostAware subscription. Optional third-party services or future management support are identified separately.
Will my existing internet gateway work?
It depends on the package. Signal includes a managed gateway. Connect and Assure include gateway validation; when the existing gateway cannot support the required network design, a separately quoted Managed Network Upgrade is added and the recording/controller design is adjusted.
Will guests still be able to use TVs and casting devices?
Yes. The guest network is not designed as blanket device isolation. Permitted guest and entertainment devices can communicate as intended while firewall boundaries keep property-management and owner devices off-limits.
Can you use my existing cameras or smart lock?
We retain useful, supported equipment whenever practical. The fixed packages are standardized around compatible equipment we can install and support reliably; the SiteCheck identifies what can stay and what would create a service limitation.
Does the camera replace a noise monitor or guarantee VRL compliance?
No. Exterior camera audio or sound-event features are supplementary awareness tools, not a substitute for a privacy-safe decibel monitor where one is required. HostAware does not promise that any single device or package alone satisfies every VRL requirement.
How do you handle exterior-camera privacy and Airbnb disclosure?
We plan disclosed exterior coverage, notification zones and privacy masks. We do not place cameras in private guest interiors. Owners must accurately disclose every camera and follow the current rules of each booking platform and jurisdiction.
What happens after the free SiteCheck?
You receive a concise findings report and, when useful, a written scope. Founding-client quotes are valid for 15 days. Camera packages include a 14-day post-installation review to refine notifications after real operating experience.
